OUTWARD DISCIPLINE

CREATION CARE

The practice of loving, tending, and stewarding God’s creation.

IDEAS FOR PRACTICE

  • Regularly expose yourself to the beauty of God’s creation, especially if you live in the city. Allow yourself to love and appreciate God’s handiwork regularly.

  • Practice personal habits that honor and protect the Earth’s natural resources, for example:

    • use energy wisely, conserve water, and recycle

    • invest in energy efficient appliances and vehicles as possible

    • if you own a home, consider installing solar panels

    • walk, bike, carpool, and use public transportation when you can

    • buy used, borrow, barter, and upcycle when possible

    • check the library before purchasing books you don’t need to keep forever

    • consider how your consumer choices - including the food you purchase and consume - impacts the Earth and make adjustments where you can

    • make a goal to fill ½ as many bags with trash per week by reducing waste in creative ways

  • Advocate for conservation efforts and social change that better cares for, protects, and stewards God’s creation.
