EATING TOGETHER

 

The practice of sharing a meal together with other believers.

IDEAS FOR PRACTICE

  • Early church gatherings took place over a meal. Something about breaking bread together helps us to see and encounter God in a unique way. Challenge yourself to share a meal regularly with other believers (aside from your immediate family). Consider setting a goal for how often you’d like to do this. Daily? Weekly?

  • Invite people to your home for dinner.

  • Invite someone to share your lunch break with you.

  • Organize a dinner party or brunch.

  • Challenge yourself to initiate spiritual conversation during these meals. Pray together before or after the meal. The gift of sharing a meal with other believers is the opportunity to encounter God together.
